You’ll get the most out of your QuickBooks subscription when you have us design and setup your file properly from the beginning. By identifying the specific requirements of your business, we will create a detailed system that will generate important KPIs to drive the Financial and Management Reports necessary for you to make strategic business decisions and maximize tax deductions. Once complete, we can begin your training process if desired while you receive a basic accounting education.

How We’ll Set Up Your QuickBooks File

Once our initial review is complete and all the necessary data has been obtained, we will begin entering all pertinent company data into your applicable QuickBooks product and move forward creating the main framework for your books, a “SMART” Chart of Accounts that is specific to your organizational needs including account names, numbers, and descriptions for all Income, Expense, Cost of Goods Sold, Asset, Liability and Equity Accounts.

After the chart of accounts is properly setup, we will prepare the financial statements as of the end of the prior tax year and enter the Trial Balances as of the QuickBooks start date including account names, numbers, and balances (from the start date to current) for all bank accounts, credit card, loans, and lines of credit.

All fixed Asset Items will be entered with their corresponding values (including original cost and accumulated depreciation for fixed assets) in addition to any existing Equity that may include owner’s contributions and retained earnings for each year the company has been operating.

The next phase will include entering the details for all Customers (Jobs), Vendors, Products and Services – an integral part of any successful business enabling you to successfully track the details of Sales and Accounts Receivable, Vendor purchases and Accounts Payable, Inventory and Purchase Orders.

If you are required to collect taxes for certain goods and services, we can include Sales Tax Setup to help you keep an accurate record to easily monitor and remit to the appropriate tax collecting agency. We will need a list of states in which the company pays sales tax to gather and enter the Sales tax rates, sales tax agencies, and the sales tax liability as of the start date in addition to the frequency of sales tax reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually), Sales tax calculation basis (cash or accrual) and the types of sales (wholesale, retail, out of state).

Most business have employees and if you are one of them, we will enter your employee details with all corresponding Payroll information that will enable you to pay your team quickly, accurately and on time.
